I have been a tenant at Yorktown Apartments for three years, and the first two were satisfactory - that's why I chose to stay. However, the third year has been nothing short of a disaster. I live in building 5 on the first floor, which is right next to the main entrance that was recently renovated over summer. They increased my rent by 70-80 dollars per month when I signed the third lease, but failed to inform me of their plans beforehand. This means my fiancée and I now have to endure constant banging and hammering all day long - not ideal for someone who stays home all day! Furthermore, even after calling into their office and providing feedback via email, they paid our neighbor Adam Carl to move out so they could have access to his room without giving us any sort of option or compensation. To me this indicates that they care more about what benefits them than taking into account their tenants' needs; it's no wonder they pride themselves on customer service when that is clearly not true! At this point any positives have vanished from my experience with Yorktown; if anyone else is considering renting here in future I would strongly advise against it due to their lack of consideration for tenants' comfort or opinions.
