If you're living in an old building, mold and high humidity are a major problem. In October and November 2021, I reported the growth of mold on my clothes, shoes, suitcase, boxes, cookbooks, walls, windows and patio door to the management; however they didn't do much about it. After four to five months of cleaning like a maniac (February 2022) they gave me a dehumidifier that made the air worse. When they came back to check if I was using it they asked "Well I don't see you using the dehumidifer?" They then got an environmental company to inspect seven different units with similar problems but have yet to report back any results. The senior manager had reported this issue to her corporate supervisor but it seems as if this has been downplayed. Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) were informed as well as Chester County Health Department who were told by New Kent Corporate Representative that other tenants weren't having this issue when in fact there are seven other units with similar problems. This is a health problem so taking legal action via Implied Warranty of Habitability could be taken whether or not stated in lease agreement.
