The Banff Springs Hotel's guest house is a magnificently restored historical home that pictures fail to do justice. Every detail was captivating from the woodwork and doors with ornate hardware, to antique light fixtures, bathroom fittings (including claw foot tubs), tin ceilings, stained glass windows and curved walls. The house is adorned with elegant antiques tastefully arranged in colors that bring out its rich history. Even the beds were comfortable with feather duvets, great pillows and luxurious linens. There are shared spaces such as a sitting room off the kitchen, dining area, sunroom reading nook, living room and upstairs bedroom sitting area while modern amenities like WIFI and TVs provide comfort. The owner Steve was available for any questions we had while breakfast provided plenty of variety along with a coffee/tea station plus stocked kitchen including bottled water. Dad even got to visit Steve's shop to discuss restoration techniques while visiting his antique store on the property too! We haven't found another historical property like it in Calgary apart from Banff Springs so this was truly a rare find for us - especially since Bragg Creek is an entrance to the mountains that sometimes gets forgotten about! We enjoyed our stay immensely but would have loved it if it were longer - definitely highly recommend this place - worth every penny!more ...hide ...
