I've been living in this community for more than a year and it has been great. I remember when I was trying to decide if moving here was the right choice, so I read all the reviews. But you should keep in mind that there are 900 apartments here and it's quite an old community, so 150 reviews doesn't even come close to representing all the residents' opinions. Additionally, its location is unbeatable--you can get to any of San Diego's great spots within 15 minutes. Furthermore, parking is secure and apartments have been recently renovated with new paint on buildings, consistent landscaping, modernized kitchens--everything looks nice! Though there are some California-specific apartment issues like smells or people not picking up after their pets or homeless people due to being near a trolley station (if you're unfamiliar with San Diego this is a common problem around every trolley stop), the office staff has always responded quickly and resolved issues as best as they can. So if you're looking around San Diego for an apartment definitely consider Promenade; while there might be newer buildings in Mission Valley they don't have the same character or comfort of Promenade (Civita looks like metal boxes without any trees) plus other comI've been living in this community for more than a year and it has been great. I've resided at this complex for two years and it's now become a dangerous place. There are numerous homeless people behaving unpredictably, and police or criminal activities occurring nearby. Management has done nothing to make the situation better, such as increasing security measures. Parking is an absolute disaster; constant construction work makes working from home unbearable due to the loud noise of machinery. The leasing office staff are very unhelpful and impolite – except Ashley (who I'm not sure even works there anymore). For example, when I alerted them that homeless people had broken into a stairwell corridor and set up camp, their suggestion was for me to contact security after hours next time I encounter homeless individuals – not helpful! The amenities here aren't bad though; the gym is nice, pool/jacuzzi great, corridors cleanly kept and the location is convenient with a good pizza place downstairs. However, these positives are heavily outweighed by all of the negatives – trust me on this one!
