Upon moving in during September of 2022, I was immediately met with an abundance of cockroaches in the kitchen, bathroom and living area. After informing the management about this issue, they applied pesticides but it had no effect. When I reported this problem again to them, there was still no action taken. This was a terrible way to be welcomed into my new home. Now it is October and even though the heating turns on for some time throughout the day, it is useless as I have noticed that the temperature drops below 21 degrees Celsius during both day and night according to my temperature detecting clock. Other tenants have reported similar issues with their heating systems as well. To stay warm I have to wear extra layers of clothing which defeats the purpose of having a functioning heater in place when paying such high rent - which seems unreasonable given that service provided is subpar at best. The management should take tenant complaints more seriously in order to provide better service overall

My biggest regret was renting an apartment for two years at 1050 Markham Road (Capreit Inc). Here are some of my experiences: 1. The unit was extremely cold in winter. I have emails as proof that it was below the standard temperature but there was no response from management. They have inspection records in their office. As a result, I had to buy blankets and a heater, and pay high electricity bills. Someone told me he's been living there for years and the unit is still cold. 2. I wanted to move out so I signed up for a month-to-month contract, providing 42 days' notice to management; however, they said two months' notice was necessary or else they would make me pay until they found another tenant due to my short notice. This led me to contact the Tenancy Board--Government--for help on this matter. 3.
