This building is in a slum--it has flooding issues, mouldy baseboards, bed bugs and cockroach infestations, nasty brown growth in the ceiling vents (which may contain asbestos), and other maintenance issues. In unit 109, I experienced bubbles coming out of the kitchen sink, and the entire bathroom had to be re-drywalled because all the walls were rotten. The landlord had a safety audit done but then re-rented it anyway; when I left early after paying July's rent and my last month's deposit they kept both payments to cover a contract company repair. The paint and cupboards hide a horror-scene of health hazards that they won't admit to. This building likes to rob their tenants instead of protecting their safety as they should; I have posted a copy of the current file on unit 109 1440 mayview since they decided to go ahead with renting after telling the LTB everything was okay (even though there was evidence that repairs had been contracted). They even accused me of holding the unit hostage before my paid time was up! This has been an ongoing issue since I moved in 3.5 years ago--the rent was $900 because no one wanted it due to its condition.
