I was initially doubtful due to the numerous unfavorable reviews, however after residing in my apartment for over twelve months I have only had a positive experience with Smart Living Properties. The maintenance group has been quick to act on our repairs requests and are eager to switch out something if it can't be fixed (we acquired two all new faucets since moving in). Our property manager has been accessible and tolerant of our needs. We stay respectful of the property and they reciprocate that respect towards us. The unit was exactly like depicted on the online tour. Maybe people's experiences may differ depending on their property manager, yet I would highly suggest Smart Living Properties based on my own encounters:)

My experience with Smart Living has been anything but satisfactory. The management shows no consideration for tenants or staff, and they're nothing short of slumlords given their negligence in repairing necessities such as heat and water. If complaints are made, they'll try to gaslight you and belittle you. Moreover, the privacy aspect of their apartments is really lacking with illegal entries taking place on a regular basis. You'd do well to take note of all the bad reviews before signing a lease; Smart Living will go out of its way to disappoint you - especially considering the amount that's charged for rent! To anyone still debating it, I suggest looking into emails from November sent to the resident service email during this time as it may help explain what happened. Personally I'm not interested in discussing these issues any further after 6 conversations with management have gone nowhere. Thanks for your sudden interest now that things have been going on for months!

I was seeking short-term housing in Ottawa, so I went online and found Smart Living Properties. Their site offers a great overview of rental options as well as their prices. For those who can't visit Ottawa in person, they provide a virtual tour of their studios and apartments. I eventually discovered a place on Elgin Street that met my requirements; it was centrally located and included furnished rooms, plus the common areas like the kitchen and living room were nicely decorated. The superintendent, Janos, and property operations manager were also available to help with any needs. All in all, I felt very much at home there--highly recommended!
