The critiques of 1080 Kingston are accurate. We resided there for two years, and it was a terrible experience: maintenance issues, cleanliness issues, security concerns, and consistent rent increases. Although we liked the location, the building had gone downhill and was filled with a continuous stream of tenants - all due to unacceptable management. There are great neighborhoods with reasonable rental options; so spare yourself both money and trouble - steer clear of 1080 Kingston!

This was, without a doubt, the WORST place I have ever rented in my travels around the world. The rent was four times higher than city guidelines; my apartment, car and storage locker were broken into multiple times; there were no security cameras or maintenance; construction was ongoing; requests for basic maintenance were ignored. Furthermore, the laundry facilities cost more than regular laundromats and the hallways had a foul smell of urine and feces with homeless people sleeping in staircases. Additionally, the garage flooded due to being unsecured. For an equal price elsewhere I could have rented a penthouse downtown with built-in laundry, theatre and doorman as well as secure parking and a dog grooming station - all at 1080 Scarborough which has high insurance ratings but none of these benefits here! Thankfully after moving out my life improved drastically - I feel sorry for anyone who falls into their traps like I did as it would be truly miserable! It's surprising that this building hasn't been shut down yet by LTB.

This apartment building is a total disaster! Save yourself the trouble of moving in and encountering roaches everywhere. Don't be fooled by the renovations; you'll find the most expensive laundry prices, no working bathroom ventilation, and a totally useless management staff. The property manager even goes into hiding when anyone tries to contact him about this issue. Toronto Bylaw should shut this place down - 0 stars if it were an option!
