I have been content for the 8+ years I've lived here. Upgrades to common areas like a revamped roof that has not leaked since, every floor refreshed with fresh paint and carpeting, along with new Canada Post mailbox cabinets and video surveillance in the laundry room have been made. In addition, they found a solution to pigeons roosting on our balcony by hiring a netting company that did an outstanding job. Both the superintendent and his wife are very friendly while working hard to keep the building secure and spotless; Mr. Saickley is an incredibly kind landlord who is approachable; office personnel are also kind and accommodating. My experience prior to living here was one of neglect - my landlord refused to fix windows that wouldn't close in winter or ice narrow stairs leading from my apartment, nor repair cracks throughout it - making me grateful for what the Saickleys do for tenants day after day.
This building may have a great location and reasonable prices, but the living experience has been awful since I moved in. There are numerous issues with my unit such as cigarette smoke from the bathroom vent, weak water pressure, peeling paint, bugs, and more. Additionally, the elevators are always stuck or broken and drop slightly when you're in them. The hallways on each floor are also dark as their motion sensors don't work. The staff is unhelpful and rude - they failed to mention that hydro would be expensive with extra fees. Maintenance requests take days to be fulfilled; even then the superintendent often doesn't solve anything. They allow construction from 7am to 8pm without warning us beforehand which is quite disruptive. Moreover, there's a lot of dog barking due to owners neglecting their pets which goes unchecked by staff; carpets also smell like manure all around the building making it unpleasant.. In summary: do not live here at any cost!
