Do not live here under any circumstances. Bed bugs, cockroaches, ants and MOLD are rampant. Sanitation is extremely poor. Home Depot was hired to treat the problem, but it only worsened after four treatments. The infestation was so severe that we had no choice but to evacuate; hundreds of bed bugs, cockroaches and ants were being killed each day. We asked why the building neglected to treat all floors, and they replied they would eventually get around to it. The building manager told us every Homestead building has bedbugs anyway! If you want your furniture destroyed by pests while dealing with bites all over your body - this is definitely the place for you! However if this doesn't sound appealing then RUN - they take your money without disclosing the infestation until it's too late and you've signed a lease already! When we moved out our super said they'd gut our unit for future tenants yet nothing of the sort happened; instead they just painted over some walls! Unhealthy, gross, stressful and poorly managed are words I would use to describe this building.

When I first moved in, there was a major cockroach infestation in the apartment. On the first night, they were scurrying all over the floor. The exterminator Homestead had hired didn't do much to solve the problem - my parents stepped in and moved the fridge to get rid of their nest, which is where they were breeding. The people they hired only did minimal work by setting traps; it was inadequate. Four months into my lease, I started having sores and itching that I thought was an allergic reaction to something unknown - turns out it was bed bugs living in my box spring! When we moved my bed back home with me, we unknowingly brought bed bugs with us as well. It cost a lot of money to fix this issue for good. Also, there are ants living inside of the walls here that can be quite annoying at times - plus one night there was even a rat inside an air vent! Be wary and make sure you know what you're getting into before signing a lease here; consider your furniture/belongings and sanity before doing so!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received. My apartment has a cockroach problem, despite pest control having been done, and the west wall of my building has a leak. During heavy rain one day, water flooded my room. Maintenance was started but not completed after two months; they also failed to provide us a storage room and asked us to empty our balconies for AC installation across the entire building. This has resulted in my apartment looking like a warehouse and I am unable to use one of my rooms or balcony as well as lacking storage space--yet I still pay full rent! The property manager has been unhelpful in resolving these issues so I plan on leaving soon.

When I came to view the apartment, they told me one price but then called back two days later to say it was much higher, which was dishonest. On the day I moved in, there were cockroaches everywhere - my apartment and hallway. I called management multiple times but nothing changed. We have a suspicious neighbor who has different men coming to their apartment daily - even on weekends - that look completely different. They stay for a few minutes then leave; when I approach them they act like they're going into another apartment until I enter mine. One time this person opened my door! Feeling unsafe, unfortunately I signed a 1 year lease already. The old management reported them and so will I too. These neighbors also leave huge garbage bags in front of the elevator doors expecting someone to take it down which attracts more roaches; plus walls are cracked and paint is bubbling everywhere! The balcony is falling apart with patches of cement 'fixing' it up; recently the building was bought by another company doing noisy renovations without any notice - you can hear the noise throughout he building! Do not sign any lease here!
