Having been at Bear Canyon Apartments for a year, I have generally been satisfied. My flat is nice and the area is secure and quiet. The staff are friendly. However, my air-conditioning started dripping from the ceiling in mid July, leading water to stream down a wall into an electrical fixture - not great when mixing those two! Also, my smoke detector in the kitchen wouldn't stop beeping so I had to remove it; this was worrying as it was the only one in that part of my apartment. After several requests, conversations with management twice and two emails (with no response), I reported this problem to City of Tucson Code Enforcement Division who haven't yet responded either. For $1400/month rent on a one bedroom flat, I'd expect better attention to safety issues and that repairs would be done quickly; additionally, I'd expect nicer appliances than what's currently provided here. Having re-signed another year's lease recently though, hopefully this next year will go as well as the first did (which had been going so well that I would have happily recommended living here).
