The apartments are nice and the building is kept very clean. Most staff members are friendly and helpful; however, I found that the place can be quite judgmental. It seems like they run it as a boarding house rather than an apartment building, trying to regulate how tenants should live -- for example, by enforcing curfews at 11pm or who can visit. Unless someone is banned from the property, tenants can have anyone they'd like over to visit them. Even though Indwell is a supportive housing building with set rules, it must still comply with Landlord-Tenant Act regulations regarding tenant's personal lives; Indwell cannot control/dictate how their tenants choose to live their lives. As a supportive housing organization they should provide support when necessary -- budgeting advice during hard times etc., not attempt to dictate one's personal life choices. Also although Indwell is Christian-based, there are often times where Christian behavior isn't shown by those running the establishment.
