My initial impression of Regent (James Building) management was positive due to some friendly gestures, but this changed once I moved in. Mike & Mitch became increasingly unresponsive despite my and my roommates' attempts to contact them regarding maintenance issues. For example, the bathroom appliances were installed incorrectly and the heating would not work in the winter months. Despite numerous complaints and requests, these problems were inadequately addressed or resolved. My experience here was not what I anticipated; communication with management felt like talking to two incompetent monkeys - an overall disappointment that overshadowed any positives of living at this residence. Therefore, I would advise current and potential residents not to take the management team seriously.

The staff had many issues including requests to fix things that were not addressed, multiple errors where money was taken from my bank account without notification, and an unexplained apartment reservation. In August I was informed that I did not have a room for the next year due to the employee who managed my things no longer working there. This left me with no option but to move back home and commute two hours every day, causing extra expenditures on gas and unnecessary kilometres on my car. The gym at James Street has unsafe equipment which is never maintained or lubricated; additionally, the vending machine has only been filled once in two years and often takes money without dispensing anything. The design of the place is nice with a modern look but it is overshadowed by their poor management practices such as an unfinished store, no events specifically at James Street location, empty vending machines, no underground parking despite paying high prices like Lake Street residents do. It seems like James Street building has been neglected in many ways; this resulted in me resenting the place despite initially liking its modern design.
