Early Monday morning, my mother (who was babysitting for me) called to notify me that our apartment was flooding. I contacted the apartment manager; she said she was on the way to inspect. By 9AM when I arrived home, the lower cabinet base had collapsed and water damage from ceiling above the sink had reached up to the bathroom. My mom cleaned up a lot of it and I spent my two off days working on it as well. Unfortunately, due to unsafe/unsanitary conditions, my toddler couldn't stay at home. Skyline management wasn't aware that this would occur but this has caused great burden and stress since I have to pay for child care services and food (since kitchen is unusable). Moreover, earlier in the week a rent increase of 2% slapped us which is unacceptable and insincere - we do not feel valued as tenants anymore. Patrice said if we're unhappy we can move without notice; however, it's regrettable that after waiting all this time nothing could be done - hence why we won't be recommending any family or friends here either.
