Window pane was undone when moved in (cannot be closed!) and leaking is common. Shower handle, washer and dryer were also not properly installed. However what tops the experience is the interaction with the leasing agents! Evan and Michael made my process so smooth. I love this place, very convenient and close to the train station. Staffs are friendly and nice, 5 stars for leasing office Evan, he is really helpful and professional. The only thing that’s kinda bother me is always hard to find someone in front desk, it happens a lot , whenever I went down to the lobby and no one was there. I read other comments about poor interior quality ( I don’t see it, I’m not that demanding so everything looks fine with me), and noise, I assume people should aware that you are supposed to hear some noise since the building is right besides to the train. Consider different apartments in the area before moving in.\n\nAfter 1 year living in Miscela I couldn’t be more disappointed by my experience here. I have had the following problems: major maintenance issues, lack of communication from management and poor building quality.\n\nA total of 20 service request over 12 months with the same recurrent issues, water leaking from bedroom ceiling, bad odors coming from vents (other units food, weed), no hot water, vents not working, pieces of concrete falling from ceiling.\n\nThe problem is, they just offer workarounds. I got my vents duct-taped which of course doesn’t fix the actual issue. Maintenance team have always tried their best, but is just a defective construction with low-quality materials.\n\nExpect amenities to be always busy, same tenants occupying the common areas all the time, constant package room issues and bad attitude from concierge.\n\nManagement should follow up and take corrective actions; not only in the units, but also in the whole building. The gym is very complete. Their conference room is perfect if you want to work from home. The meeting/party room is also great. They also have a soundproof room if you want to play music such as guitar or so. The pool is great as well as the patio. The parking has a great air venting system.\n\nIn terms of our experience with the tour: Michael (aka Mike) gave us a tour on two tours on Saturday and Wednesday. He spent more than an hour patiently answering all of our questions while showing us 4 different 1 bedroom apartments. He was also very responsive through emails.\n\nOn the day we came to sign the contract, I suggested renting a studio instead of the 1 bedroom apartment that we had already applied for. On that day, Aurora was covering for Mike. Without rushing us into making a decision, she gave me a tour of their available studios with great patience and detail. Both Mike and Aurora truly cared about the clients and their happiness and satisfaction with the apartments.\n\nIt was also really convenient to move in on move-in day. They have parking that we could park a two-bedroom U-Haul in, and the parking was connected to the hallway which had access to the big elevator that you could load with your boxes/furniture. We moved in on Sunday, Cailee greatly helped us with locking the elevator as well as giving us their dollies. Our move took around 4 hours to finish, and she checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything else.\n\nLocation-wise, you can't go wrong with the location! After moving in, there were some kinks with our unit that required maintenance, but it never caused much of an issue because Stanley was so responsive and quick to come in and inspect them. He either solved them himself on the spot or called in someone external to assess the issue by the next day. They even have a hot tube, and that’s not an easy amenity to find. Also, the sounding neighborhood is so cute and a perfect fit for what we are looking for. Mike gave us a tour around the building and was extremely helpful during our apartment search. He was fun, personable, and knowledgeable about the building answering all of our questions. He even showed us 4 apartment layouts in the building so that we could select the best layout for us. But with its own parking lot, convenient location, high ceilings and industrial charm, I was happy to get my one bedroom on the second floor. Yes, my windows overlook all of the dumpsters, and no, I can't open my windows from April-October because of the smell and flies (those big meat-eating green kind), but eh, I was actually okay with that too. I was given a small but dry storage unit on the ground floor and there was no "pet fee" at all. The fact that there were only three washers and three dryers (they are 2002 models) for 39 units seemed a bit ridiculous, especially considering that they charge $2.00 per load for each machine, but hey, at least I didn't have to drag a cart outside! There is A LOT of turnover here; I've had some great next-door and across the hall neighbors and some not so great, but the good thing is the 5 inches of cement between floors means I rarely hear my upstairs neighbor. That's all the good news, though, and here is why I gave this place only two stars: About a year after moving in the building fell under new ownership, some guys out in NYC who couldn't care less about the tenants here. They "renovated" perfectly good hallways, removed all the carpets making EVERY FOOTSTEP echo into our units. They put up horrible, cheap artwork, placed useless furniture at the end of each hall after they painted over the outdoor scenes with flat white paint. They removed the charming industrial hall lights and put in the cheapest, ugliest fixtures that CONSTANTLY flicker and drive everyone nuts. They never bothered asking tenants what we might think, feel, or need and I can promise you NONE of us would have said terrible pastels and hallway chairs. They upped the rent, started charging $40 per pet per month and $75 per month for the storage unit. I'm a public school teacher and that really did hit hard, but I STILL renewed my lease in March because I love my location and there really is a sense of community here. But today...today was kind of the final straw. One of the best things about living here was the courtyard; it had cherry blossoms and beautiful maples which shaded the building and acted as a lovely canopy when you entered. Today they CUT ALL OF THE COURTYARD TREES DOWN. All of them. They gave no notice, only posting that the courtyard entrance would be unavailable on Thursday, July 29, 2021 for "landscaping." Needless to say all of the tenants here at the Warehouse but also in the buildings adjacent, arrived outside in various states of disbelief, anger, and sadness. What a shame, on so many levels. They spent thousands and thousands on interior renovations that no one wanted and killed beautiful, old trees we all loved, but we're still using the same THREE deficient washers and dryers that were here when George Bush was president and we'd just invaded Afghanistan. It is not a horrible place to live, but it is absolutely not worth the money. You can live a few more blocks from Main Street in Somerville and pay just as much or less for a considerably better place. We paid $1900/month for a two-bedroom, and it absolutely was not worth it. Issues we experienced here included:\n\n1) Exorbitant electric bills due to extremely inefficient heating and cooling. When you have old, gigantic, poorly insulated industrial windows, hotel-style combination heating/AC units do not do the job. Installing radiators would be expensive, but properly weather-stripping the windows wouldn't be. Some of our windows were held together with glue, which, oddly enough, doesn't insulate very well. Also, we had two heating units in our two-bedroom apartment, one in the living room and one in one bedroom. That would have been fine had there been a better way to channel the heat into the other rooms. Instead, we got a hole in the wall and a jerry rigged bunch of aluminum tubes I had to prop up with a chair and some books. One of the units was not installed properly, either: I had to remove it and bend the mounting frame back into shape with some pliers so that it actually fit snugly.\n\n2) Shoddy workmanship on new installations. They bill these as luxury apartments, and when we moved in, they installed new granite counter tops, kitchen and bathroom tiles, and bathroom fixtures. And that was nice, except that the pipes under the sinks leaked, there were chunks of dried grout stuck to the tops of the tiles, and a wood shim was sticking out from under the granite counter top. Not exactly quality workmanship.\n\n3) Our stove and oven were old electric units that took ages to heat up. It would literally take half an hour to preheat the oven to 400.\n\n4) When I moved in, management told me that my mailbox keys were at the post office. So I went there. They told me management had them. I went back and forth for days before management sent the super to my apartment with my keys. I guess they had had them all along!\n\n5) Speaking of management, the super failed to notify management of my new address when I moved out, which I provided in an envelope HE HAD GIVEN ME when I returned my keys. So, my security deposit went to the Warehouse and sat in my old mailbox (good job on that mail forwarding, USPS), and I had to track it down. Management said they'd never received my new address, which is possible, but that doesn't explain why they didn't try to contact me or my wife through phone or email to get our new address before just sending the deposit out and forgetting about it. The check was sent by certified mail, had supposedly been signed for by someone who wasn't either of us, and for all anyone knew could have already been cashed by that someone. No, management had no idea of whether or not the check had been cashed or deposited yet. When I told the woman responsible for mailing the security deposits that she had done a crappy job in never reaching out to get our new address, she hung up the phone on me. When I called back, another woman told me that Oxford Realty has 6000 tenants, which apparently means sending out a form email when you need someone's contact information is too arduous an undertaking.\n\nSo, if you got through all that, don't live here. But with its own parking lot, convenient location, high ceilings and industrial charm, I was happy to get my one bedroom on the second floor. Yes, my windows overlook all of the dumpsters, and no, I can't open my windows from April-October because of the smell and flies (those big meat-eating green kind), but eh, I was actually okay with that too. I was given a small but dry storage unit on the ground floor and there was no "pet fee" at all. The fact that there were only three washers and three dryers (they are 2002 models) for 39 units seemed a bit ridiculous, especially considering that they charge $2.00 per load for each machine, but hey, at least I didn't have to drag a cart outside! There is A LOT of turnover here; I've had some great next-door and across the hall neighbors and some not so great, but the good thing is the 5 inches of cement between floors means I rarely hear my upstairs neighbor. That's all the good news, though, and here is why I gave this place only two stars: About a year after moving in the building fell under new ownership, some guys out in NYC who couldn't care less about the tenants here. They "renovated" perfectly good hallways, removed all the carpets making EVERY FOOTSTEP echo into our units. They put up horrible, cheap artwork, placed useless furniture at the end of each hall after they painted over the outdoor scenes with flat white paint. They removed the charming industrial hall lights and put in the cheapest, ugliest fixtures that CONSTANTLY flicker and drive everyone nuts. They never bothered asking tenants what we might think, feel, or need and I can promise you NONE of us would have said terrible pastels and hallway chairs. They upped the rent, started charging $40 per pet per month and $75 per month for the storage unit. I'm a public school teacher and that really did hit hard, but I STILL renewed my lease in March because I love my location and there really is a sense of community here. But today...today was kind of the final straw. One of the best things about living here was the courtyard; it had cherry blossoms and beautiful maples which shaded the building and acted as a lovely canopy when you entered. Today they CUT ALL OF THE COURTYARD TREES DOWN. All of them. They gave no notice, only posting that the courtyard entrance would be unavailable on Thursday, July 29, 2021 for "landscaping." Needless to say all of the tenants here at the Warehouse but also in the buildings adjacent, arrived outside in various states of disbelief, anger, and sadness. What a shame, on so many levels. They spent thousands and thousands on interior renovations that no one wanted and killed beautiful, old trees we all loved, but we're still using the same THREE deficient washers and dryers that were here when George Bush was president and we'd just invaded Afghanistan. It is not a horrible place to live, but it is absolutely not worth the money. You can live a few more blocks from Main Street in Somerville and pay just as much or less for a considerably better place. We paid $1900/month for a two-bedroom, and it absolutely was not worth it. Issues we experienced here included:\n\n1) Exorbitant electric bills due to extremely inefficient heating and cooling. When you have old, gigantic, poorly insulated industrial windows, hotel-style combination heating/AC units do not do the job. Installing radiators would be expensive, but properly weather-stripping the windows wouldn't be. Some of our windows were held together with glue, which, oddly enough, doesn't insulate very well. Also, we had two heating units in our two-bedroom apartment, one in the living room and one in one bedroom. That would have been fine had there been a better way to channel the heat into the other rooms. Instead, we got a hole in the wall and a jerry rigged bunch of aluminum tubes I had to prop up with a chair and some books. One of the units was not installed properly, either: I had to remove it and bend the mounting frame back into shape with some pliers so that it actually fit snugly.\n\n2) Shoddy workmanship on new installations. They bill these as luxury apartments, and when we moved in, they installed new granite counter tops, kitchen and bathroom tiles, and bathroom fixtures. And that was nice, except that the pipes under the sinks leaked, there were chunks of dried grout stuck to the tops of the tiles, and a wood shim was sticking out from under the granite counter top. Not exactly quality workmanship.\n\n3) Our stove and oven were old electric units that took ages to heat up. It would literally take half an hour to preheat the oven to 400.\n\n4) When I moved in, management told me that my mailbox keys were at the post office. So I went there. They told me management had them. I went back and forth for days before management sent the super to my apartment with my keys. I guess they had had them all along!\n\n5) Speaking of management, the super failed to notify management of my new address when I moved out, which I provided in an envelope HE HAD GIVEN ME when I returned my keys. So, my security deposit went to the Warehouse and sat in my old mailbox (good job on that mail forwarding, USPS), and I had to track it down. Management said they'd never received my new address, which is possible, but that doesn't explain why they didn't try to contact me or my wife through phone or email to get our new address before just sending the deposit out and forgetting about it. The check was sent by certified mail, had supposedly been signed for by someone who wasn't either of us, and for all anyone knew could have already been cashed by that someone. No, management had no idea of whether or not the check had been cashed or deposited yet. When I told the woman responsible for mailing the security deposits that she had done a crappy job in never reaching out to get our new address, she hung up the phone on me. When I called back, another woman told me that Oxford Realty has 6000 tenants, which apparently means sending out a form email when you need someone's contact information is too arduous an undertaking.\n\nSo, if you got through all that, don't live here. Get a real luxury apartment for a few hundred dollars more each month, or rent a few block off of Main Street from a landlord who actually treats you like more than a name on a list.\n Jonathan Consider different apartments in the area before moving in.\n\nAfter 1 year living in Miscela I couldn’t be more disappointed by my experience here. I have had the following problems: major maintenance issues, lack of communication from management and poor building quality.\n\nA total of 20 service request over 12 months with the same recurrent issues, water leaking from bedroom ceiling, bad odors coming from vents (other units food, weed), no hot water, vents not working, pieces of concrete falling from ceiling.\n\nThe problem is, they just offer workarounds. I got my vents duct-taped which of course doesn’t fix the actual issue. Maintenance team have always tried their best, but is just a defective construction with low-quality materials.\n\nExpect amenities to be always busy, same tenants occupying the common areas all the time, constant package room issues and bad attitude from concierge.\n\nManagement should follow up and take corrective actions; not only in the units, but also in the whole building. The parking has a great air venting system.\n\nIn terms of our experience with the tour: Michael (aka Mike) gave us a tour on two tours on Saturday and Wednesday. He spent more than an hour patiently answering all of our questions while showing us 4 different 1 bedroom apartments. He was also very responsive through emails.\n\nOn the day we came to sign the contract, I suggested renting a studio instead of the 1 bedroom apartment that we had already applied for. On that day, Aurora was covering for Mike. Without rushing us into making a decision, she gave me a tour of their available studios with great patience and detail. Both Mike and Aurora truly cared about the clients and their happiness and satisfaction with the apartments.\n\nIt was also really convenient to move in on move-in day. They have parking that we could park a two-bedroom U-Haul in, and the parking was connected to the hallway which had access to the big elevator that you could load with your boxes/furniture. We moved in on Sunday, Cailee greatly helped us with locking the elevator as well as giving us their dollies. Our move took around 4 hours to finish, and she checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything else.\n\nLocation-wise, you can't go wrong with the location! Yes, my windows overlook all of the dumpsters, and no, I can't open my windows from April-October because of the smell and flies (those big meat-eating green kind), but eh, I was actually okay with that too. I was given a small but dry storage unit on the ground floor and there was no "pet fee" at all. The fact that there were only three washers and three dryers (they are 2002 models) for 39 units seemed a bit ridiculous, especially considering that they charge $2.00 per load for each machine, but hey, at least I didn't have to drag a cart outside! There is A LOT of turnover here; I've had some great next-door and across the hall neighbors and some not so great, but the good thing is the 5 inches of cement between floors means I rarely hear my upstairs neighbor. That's all the good news, though, and here is why I gave this place only two stars: About a year after moving in the building fell under new ownership, some guys out in NYC who couldn't care less about the tenants here. They "renovated" perfectly good hallways, removed all the carpets making EVERY FOOTSTEP echo into our units. They put up horrible, cheap artwork, placed useless furniture at the end of each hall after they painted over the outdoor scenes with flat white paint. They removed the charming industrial hall lights and put in the cheapest, ugliest fixtures that CONSTANTLY flicker and drive everyone nuts. They never bothered asking tenants what we might think, feel, or need and I can promise you NONE of us would have said terrible pastels and hallway chairs. They upped the rent, started charging $40 per pet per month and $75 per month for the storage unit. I'm a public school teacher and that really did hit hard, but I STILL renewed my lease in March because I love my location and there really is a sense of community here. But today...today was kind of the final straw. One of the best things about living here was the courtyard; it had cherry blossoms and beautiful maples which shaded the building and acted as a lovely canopy when you entered. Today they CUT ALL OF THE COURTYARD TREES DOWN. All of them. They gave no notice, only posting that the courtyard entrance would be unavailable on Thursday, July 29, 2021 for "landscaping." Needless to say all of the tenants here at the Warehouse but also in the buildings adjacent, arrived outside in various states of disbelief, anger, and sadness. What a shame, on so many levels. They spent thousands and thousands on interior renovations that no one wanted and killed beautiful, old trees we all loved, but we're still using the same THREE deficient washers and dryers that were here when George Bush was president and we'd just invaded Afghanistan. It is not a horrible place to live, but it is absolutely not worth the money. You can live a few more blocks from Main Street in Somerville and pay just as much or less for a considerably better place. We paid $1900/month for a two-bedroom, and it absolutely was not worth it. Issues we experienced here included:\n\n1) Exorbitant electric bills due to extremely inefficient heating and cooling. When you have old, gigantic, poorly insulated industrial windows, hotel-style combination heating/AC units do not do the job. Installing radiators would be expensive, but properly weather-stripping the windows wouldn't be. Some of our windows were held together with glue, which, oddly enough, doesn't insulate very well. Also, we had two heating units in our two-bedroom apartment, one in the living room and one in one bedroom. That would have been fine had there been a better way to channel the heat into the other rooms. Instead, we got a hole in the wall and a jerry rigged bunch of aluminum tubes I had to prop up with a chair and some books. One of the units was not installed properly, either: I had to remove it and bend the mounting frame back into shape with some pliers so that it actually fit snugly.\n\n2) Shoddy workmanship on new installations. They bill these as luxury apartments, and when we moved in, they installed new granite counter tops, kitchen and bathroom tiles, and bathroom fixtures. And that was nice, except that the pipes under the sinks leaked, there were chunks of dried grout stuck to the tops of the tiles, and a wood shim was sticking out from under the granite counter top. Not exactly quality workmanship.\n\n3) Our stove and oven were old electric units that took ages to heat up. It would literally take half an hour to preheat the oven to 400.\n\n4) When I moved in, management told me that my mailbox keys were at the post office. So I went there. They told me management had them. I went back and forth for days before management sent the super to my apartment with my keys. I guess they had had them all along!\n\n5) Speaking of management, the super failed to notify management of my new address when I moved out, which I provided in an envelope HE HAD GIVEN ME when I returned my keys. So, my security deposit went to the Warehouse and sat in my old mailbox (good job on that mail forwarding, USPS), and I had to track it down. Management said they'd never received my new address, which is possible, but that doesn't explain why they didn't try to contact me or my wife through phone or email to get our new address before just sending the deposit out and forgetting about it. The check was sent by certified mail, had supposedly been signed for by someone who wasn't either of us, and for all anyone knew could have already been cashed by that someone. No, management had no idea of whether or not the check had been cashed or deposited yet. When I told the woman responsible for mailing the security deposits that she had done a crappy job in never reaching out to get our new address, she hung up the phone on me. When I called back, another woman told me that Oxford Realty has 6000 tenants, which apparently means sending out a form email when you need someone's contact information is too arduous an undertaking.\n\nSo, if you got through all that, don't live here.
